Ironhold Command
Ironhold Command is a slower game, and that's the point. You build up a frontier outpost, manage supply lines, and defend against raids that come on a timer you can actually plan around. It's not a frantic tap-fest — more like a chess match you return to across a day.
The interface is where it wins. Dragging units and queuing builds feels natural, and the map zoom is smooth. There's a lot of information packed in, but the tutorial doesn't drown you. I did wish the settings offered a colorblind mode for the faction markers, which can blur together.
Because so much happens on timers, battery use is low if you play in short checks rather than staring at it. That makes it a great background game. The AI raids ramp up nicely, keeping the mid-game tense without being unfair.
What we liked
- Planned, non-frantic pacing
- Clean drag-and-queue interface
- Light battery use in short sessions
