Petal and Tide

★★★★☆ 4.4 Editor rating

Petal and Tide is a cozy simulation about slowly bringing a storm-battered island back to life. You plant gardens, repair houses, and coax former residents back home. There's no fail state, no clock yelling at you — just a steady drip of small goals.

The tap-and-drag building is precise, and the camera controls are the smoothest I've seen in the genre. Everything snaps nicely to the grid, so you don't fight placement. Settings let you mute the chatty townsfolk if you want pure ambiance, which I did.

What keeps me coming back is how it fits into real life. Five minutes here, a longer session there, and the island keeps growing. Battery drain is minimal thanks to the static scenes. It's the game I open when I want to decompress.
